D'Addario NYXLBryan's Custom Gauge 10-56 ga Guitar String Set

You won't find this gauge set anywhere else, because we order single strings to make it. Bryan Peterson, founder of More Gain Music stumbled on this gauge set by accident and found he loved it. What's different about it? The high strings retain their flexibility for bends and leads while the low strings are extra tight. This results in a punchier sound with great overall balance, and allows for lower action, as the amplitude of string vibration isn't as significant. If you think the extra tension is a problem for you, remember, with a lower action, the force required is less (work = force x distance, after all), and with the right setup, these will play metal better than most. Bryan plays this set in tunings from standard to a full step down. 

D'Addario makes some serious claims about the performance, life, and resistance to breaking of the NYXL series strings. While we haven't scientifically tested these claims, our playing experience seems to support all of these claims. The high carbon steel resists breaking like nothing else. Our customer experience seems to line up with out personal experience on this point, very few reported strings breaking over many years of selling them. Tuning stability is unsurpassed. I put them on my Teisco Del Rey, didn't play them for six months and it was still in tune. D'Addario also claims higher output, and again, our experience lines up. They're fantastic on high performance metal guitars, and great in high gain situations. 

NYXL strings are high carbon steel alloy, nickel plated, and are not coated or treated. Balanced tension sets are designed to have consistent string tension in each string for consistent feel and bending.
